About me

My name is Mart Verhoog, and my expertise lies in the fields of transformation and competitiveness. During my studies in the Netherlands, I worked on developing concrete competitive advantages for small and medium-sized enterprises. In the first five years after my graduation, I continued this consulting activity, analyzing markets and opportunities for businesses in trade, industry, and the service sector.

In 1999, I transitioned to the industry and joined the French conglomerate Lafarge, relocating to Germany. There, in the role of a product manager, I developed numerous innovative campaigns and products. Additionally, I took on the challenge of integrating the Dutch marketing and sales team more closely into the German organization. In my subsequent position at Knauf, I utilized my skills as a mediator to enhance collaboration between central marketing, the factory in Belgium, and the sales teams in Germany and Austria—a task that demanded considerable finesse.

From 2006 to 2011, I served as a member of the executive management team for the DACH region at the Spanish company URSA/Gruppo Uralita, which was undergoing a crisis. My task was to transform marketing and sales, focusing on developing relevant competitive positions involving the employees. Since 2011, I have been working as a research leader at Leipzig University, where my team and I engage in various research projects related to transformation, consumer behavior, and sustainability.

Since 2019, I have been a full-time professor of marketing management at IU International University of Applied Sciences, advising companies looking to enhance their competitiveness and undergo transformation.
